Golf and Spa at Archerfield Links | Fletcher’s Cottage | Luxury Spa

Archerfield Links in East Lothian, Scotland, is home to Fletcher’s Cottage, a rustic spa and luxury members’ lodge at its 36-hole golf resort near North Berwick.

Already voted Scotland’s Best Spa by The Telegraph, Fletcher’s Cottage Spa has a rustic theme with a thermal area, including marine steam room, rasul mud cure, private bath huts and a salt room using healing Himalayan salt bricks.

Both the spa and lodges are open to members and guests and a range of packages are available offering stays in luxury member’s lodge accommodation, with spa treatments and golf around the Dirleton and Fidra links courses.

Archerfield’s courses are consistently ranked among the best golf courses in the UK and Ireland.

The 6,948-yard, par-72 Fidra course, designed by European Senior Tour professional David J Russell, opened in 2004.

It combines a tree-lined front nine with a classic, open links challenge on the return, and features eye-catching revetted bunkers and sloping greens.

Tom Younger, Chief Executive of Archerfield Links and Archerfield House, said:

“Our two golf courses and clubhouse offer a relaxed, informal and welcoming family atmosphere, while our spa, luxury accommodation, hospitality and event facilities are second to none. As we say, at Archerfield we play a different game.”

The estate’s accommodation offers 70 comfortable bedrooms in a variety of settings, from an exclusive sea front villa to pavilion suites attached to historic Archerfield House itself.

East Lothian: Scotland’s Golf Coast

East Lothian is one of Scotland’s most popular regions with visiting golfers and is marketed as Scotland’s Golf Coast, a bold claim when you think about the Fife Coast and the courses lined up along the Ayrshire Coast.

Nevertheless, East Lothian can rightfully boast a classic Open Championship course in Muirfield and a host of high class links golf courses including the East and West Links at North Berwick– home to the famous Redan par three – and three courses at Gullane Golf Club overlooking Muirfield.

Play Hickory Golf at Musselburgh

Another famous golfing venue is the Old Links at Musselburgh, home to the World Hickory Golf Open where you can dress up in plus-fours, flat cap and play with original hickory clubs.

A more affordable alternative to the Archerfield Lodges is The Golf Inn in Gullane which has bags of character and serves a lovely pint of 80 schilling, Scotland’s best attempt at real ale.
