Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Club, County Durham’s only 36-hole golf resort, has launched new golf and spa breaks following the opening of an £11m luxury spa and wellness facility.
Guests at the four star resort can now combine golf on two championship courses, The Prince Bishops and The Cathedral, with relaxation in the spa and restorative treatments created exclusively for golfers.
Ramside’s luxury spa is aiming to establish a reputation as one of the best in the UK.
Facilities includes a 25 metre swimming pool, gym and exercise studios, outdoor vitality pool, hydrotherapy and infinity pools, herbal sauna and Himalayan salt steam room, a sunken amphitheatre sauna, sleep sanctuary and thermal suite with Soundwave therapy beds.
The spa also has 14 treatment rooms offering a range of treatments using ESPA products.

Visitors to the resort can now choose from a golf & spa overnight break, a one day golf and spa experience or a wellness treatment called Golfer’s Tonic, designed to relieve the physical stresses of playing golf.
Parent company Ramside Estates Ltd has invested £16m in the redevelopment of its hotel and golf resort near historic Durham City since 2011.
The developments included a new hotel wing of 47 premium bedrooms, the construction of the 7,200 yard Cathedral course – England’s newest championship golf course – and the Spa at Ramside.
The Cathedral Course opened in September 2014 and winds it way across a broad hilltop plateau and down through a picturesque wooded valley. Several of its holes are directly inspired by Augusta National Golf Club and its Masters tournament.

Golfer’s Tonic
A 60-minute treatment that soothes aching muscles and targets the back, neck, legs and feet.
Includes a soothing foot soak and scrub followed by a therapeutic leg and foot massage. The back is then exfoliated and massaged with hot stones – the perfect treatment to restore energy to a weary golfer’s back, feet and legs.
